Kosovo

Following extensive destruction, uprooting, and fatalities, the Kosovo War (1998–1999) brought in NATO intervention and the creation of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK). Due to geopolitical reasons, Kosovo's 2008 declaration of independence from Serbia was recognized by a number of nations but is still not widely accepted.

About 20,000 people were raped during the war in Kosovo, among whom 135 were children".
